‘A Different Gravitation’
UHI Psychology Skate Park Project
An exhibition of photographs and poems highlighting the positive benefits of skating for mental health and wellbeing, created during summer engagement sessions hosted by UHI Inverness in collaboration with the Highland Skate Parks Association.
During the sessions, photographs were taken by Shona Graham-Taylor, Rhys Campbell and Matt Sillars of The Inverness Community Darkroom. A poetry writing workshop was also led by published poet, Cáit O’Neill McCullagh. Come and see the results.
A short film documenting this project will screen as part of A Different Gravitation: Mental Wellbeing and Skateboarding, a unique film and discussion event taking place on Sunday 15 October that looks at the link between skateboarding and mental health.
The images I have shown were shot using a 35mm film camera, hand developed and printed using darkroom techniques by myself at the Inverness darkroom.
