About the Photographer

Shona Graham-Taylor is a 25-year-old wildlife, landscape, fine art, and commercial photographer based in the Scottish Highlands. Her work draws inspiration from the natural world around her, blending traditional techniques with a more artistic, expressive approach to photography.

Shona’s interest in wildlife and the outdoors began in her teenage years and has since grown into a deeply personal creative practice. Her portfolio includes both classic wildlife documentation and fine art interpretations — particularly in black and white, where she explores atmosphere, light, and the quiet character of animals in their environment.

She first discovered her love for photography through landscapes and continues to pursue this alongside her wildlife work, using both digital and analog formats. Her involvement as a committee member of Inverness Darkroom has helped shape her visual style and technical skill, especially through hands-on work with film and traditional processes.

Shona is the creator of Wildlight — an ongoing black-and-white wildlife photography project exploring the emotional and artistic potential of monochrome. The project’s first sub-series, Emergence, focuses on butterflies and was created for a women-only exhibition.

Her work has been exhibited in venues including Eden Court, Logie Steading, and Glenmorangie House, in both solo and group exhibitions. She has also collaborated with organisations such as FLOW Photo Fest, Findhorn Bay Arts, and UHI.
